WASHINGTON - Accounts of a February 28 "literary luncheon" at the White House suggest that US President George W Bush's reading tastes - until now a remarkably good predictor of his policy views - are moving ever rightward, even apocalyptic, despite his administration's recent suggestions that it is more disposed to engage Washington's foes, even in the Middle East.

Now before I go back to my favourite Axis of Evil pass-time of scheming and ploting against the great Bushmerican Democracy, maybe I should point a few thoughts that occured to me while reading this.
1. Bush seems more biblophobe than biblophile.
2. If these books are good literature, I don't even want to imagine bad literature.
3. Only a tyrant preaches so feverishly about "liberty" and "democracy".
4. Once a nation of cuthroat owtlaws, always a nation of cuthroat outlaws.
5. The worst Wahhabi zealot sounds naivly innocent compared with the "Christian" authors. But, then again, take point 3 and replace "tyrant" with "fanatic", and you'll get my drift.
6. There was once an Arab dictator who liked to imitate Jamal Abdul Nasser. He was hanged on New Year's Eve.
7. Hearing God's voice, O, Pure Bush of all Righteous, is one of two: heresy or schizofrenia. Or both.
8. WAKE UP BEFORE THE EATH BLOWS FROM UNDER YOU!!!

First: Do not set a deadline for withdrawal. That led to the slaughter of 700,000 to 1 million people in India, with the killing beginning one minute after the midnight deadline. Bush wondered if there are examples of occupying forces remaining for long periods of time, other than in Korea. Malaysia, said Roberts, where it took nine years to defeat the Communists, after which the occupying troops remained for several years.
Second lesson: Will trumps wealth. The Romans, the tsars, and other rich world powers fell to poorer ones because they lacked the will to fight and survive.
Third lesson: Don't hesitate to intern our enemies for long, indefinite periods of time. That policy worked in Ireland and during World War II. Release should only follow victory.
Lesson four: Cling to the alliance of the English-speaking peoples. Although many nations have joined the coalition in Iraq and Afghanistan, troops from Britain, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are doing the heavy lifting.
Fifth lesson: We are fighting an enemy that cannot be appeased; were that possible, the French would already have done it -- a Roberts quip that elicited a loud chuckle from the president.
If you ask me, it sounds like both of them tune into Michael Savage (Michael Alan Weiner, Ph.D.), the extreme right talk show nut that invented the words "Islamo-Fascist" and "Compassionate Conservative"
It may be funny on sight but is sad in reflection how many people will use how many words to vainly try to disguise the fact they are vicious racist bastards. They can pontificate, shout, gesture, explain, urge, and intellectualize but they cannot hide their true skin. It shows. It always does. Ignorance, their own and of the fools they swayed, has always been the prop that gave them voice. That depended on darkness obscuring matters they twisted. But now, with advances in communications technology shrinking an enlightened information world, the bigots' podium is crumbling. They are seen for what they are and only the diminishing number of those just like them and/or stupid nod in agreement. How prophetically proper have been the words of the spiritual and freedom song "This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine, ....., Let it shine, Let it shine, Let it shine." Let us sing out!
