Two Headed Saw
The new world order version of democracy needs two parties for the same reason the guy on the corner needs two hands to maneuver three shells over one pea, while we piss away our paychecks betting on which hand is the least evil. Democracy doesn't work when the aim of the government is to obey the majority of the money.
Lobbying against corporation money seems futile until one realizes they're bribing our representatives with money collected from the addicts for their product — our money — from us. Localize our economy and international corporations have to move to the end of the line with hardly a shell to pea in.
There never has been 2 it was a ploy that has worked for 100s of years .sad tho many so called party now and only 2 are counted o yeah at the freedom of choice is there ????
The difficulties for third parties to get on the ballot these days only shows that there is only the illusion of choice maintained by the two sides of the coin of the realm.
At basis of mathematics of probability is something called theory of utility. When applied to game theory, a related branch of mathematics, there is an inescapable conclusion that in what might be considered a 'fair' game played long enough, probabilities favor the rich winning everything the poor possess.
It works this way. Suppose a rich and poor guy play a coin flip game, heads the rich guy wins and tails the poor guy wins. (what else would you expect?). They can keep on playing as long as both have money to bet. It they repeat the game long enough, there is certain to be a run of heads that will wipe out the poor guy and the probability of that happening is greater that its opposite.
Think lottery. Are billionaires likely to bet a dollar to win a measly million? But, you can see long lines of poor people forgoing purchase of a bottle of beer with their last dollar to buy a ticket in hopes of that million. Apply the concept to national and even international political economics. It fits who starts wars with who and why. "Fair" applied to real life becomes another way to describe robbery. But all is not lost. There is another way to win.
I could never defeat my brother at chess though he knew little of the game. What he did know was the ooops move. I read the books and played by rules of fairness. He wasn't much of a reader. Didn't need to be. He would lean forward before my impending victory, yell "ooops", and knock the board so pieces scattered on the floor. He is still applying the ooops move in other areas of life. We who would buck probabilities could learn from him.
I have been doing some local GOTV and canvassing work here, not because i have any faith in the electoral system, but I gain peoples trust and slowly introduce them to socialist concepts.What is striking is the level of cynicism and disgust at the whole process.People with any intelligence just feel insulted and the rest vote Republican anyway.(Ha Ha)With all the hollow rhetoric coming from Iraq about democracy people know there own is a sham and a naive person might think they would be ready to revolt.Instead they just change to a cable channel.
