Very Annoying
US Presidunce Bush signed a new a US law on Thursday 5 January 2006 which makes it a federal crime to either post annoying web messages or send annoying email (that's the wording, believe it or not) without disclosing the sender's true identity. It applies to any one making any use of the internet in any manner while committing this annoying crime. Provisions of the new law were sneaked into Section 113 of H.R. 3402 titled Violence Against Women and Department of Justice Reauthorization Act of 2005.
The certain way for US citizens to acquire freedom of thought and word would be to join 10 million or so others in expatriation from their choking homeland to one where "freedom" is a word with more substantial meaning than nothing left to lose. But, all is not lost for those who remain and yet wish to fight the colosus from inside by saying what they damned well please. There is a way.
MyTrashMail is a Japanese based web service which permits sending email using any fake identity and return address desired, whether such exists or not. One can be gwbush@usgov.com if desired. An option is to have responses stored for reading. Otherwise, responses to non existent addresses go off into the ether's great bit bucket. If however a real address is used, no matter who's, the owner of that address will receive any responses. There is nothing in the message headers to indicate the email is anything but legitimate nor betray the source. Thinking "Let's you and him fight", consider what annoyances could pass between selected enemies.
There is a complicating work around which can be used just in case MyTrashMail should renege on promises and release a user internet address to law pigs. That is to not contact MyTrashMail directly but instead browse to them using an address masking service. Anonymouse in Germany does such a good job of that, it is dificult to even trace their location.
